If you want something you’ve never had, then you’ve got to do something you’ve never done

“If you want something you’ve never had, then you’ve got to do something you’ve never done”.

This quote is easier said than done and everyone can easily relate to. If you want to change the course of your life, you have to change what you do. This is a very simple principle but hard to implement. Once we change what we usually do, we are now getting out of our comfort zone which is scary for most of us.

Why some people are more successful compare to others? Why do some people make more money and accomplish much more in the same number of years than the great majority? This is simply because they do what others afraid to do. They are eager to change their life and do something they never done. We are looking for something new, something larger than ourselves, something that will satisfy our cravings we have to fill an empty place inside. For us to satisfy this craving, we have to do things that are new to us.

Above quotes is almost the same with what Albert Einstein said.

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different results.” – Albert Einstein

If you are already seek and tired with your current job position, go a head and make some extra mile with your daily office routine to get a promotion. If you want to loose weight, go ahead and do some exercises and eat healthy foods. If you’re unhappy with your income, go and change how you earn.

The courage to do something new, to let go of past beliefs and embark on a creative departure is huge. Doing something unusual is one of the stepping stones towards success. If you want the thing you’ve never had, then do the thing you’ve never done. I may be sound redundant here but that is indeed the whole point.

Doing something outside of the box is the key to personal greatness. It is the magic quality that opens all doors of opportunity for you. Not everyone can easily tell his self to do things that are unfamiliar and be brave doing something we have never done before. When I put up this blog and started this online journey, I begin to realize what truly matters to me and my full potential. Sometimes we have to step outside of our comfort zones or we won’t be able to explore anything new. If all of us had the mindset to do what we’ve never done, we’d be able to reach all our dreams that we never thought possible.

How to Take Action towards your Dreams

Successful people have one thing in common, they get things done. This is a pretty obvious characteristic each one of us needs to have if we really want to see a noticeable improvement in our lives.

To get things done, you need to take action and as simple as that. Unfortunately, the simplicity of this concept is sometimes can be difficult and hard to most of us.

Below are simple reminders that can help you to push yourself and take action. Actions that will help you reach the life you truly deserve.

 

~Embrace the present~
Living in the present will help you to focus on what you can do in the present moment. The simplest ways to connect with the present is focus on you breathing for a minute or two. Do the “inhale – exhale” exercise.

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is God’s gift, that’s why we call it the present” ~ Joan Rivers (this quote was also used in the movie “KungFu Panda”)

Don’t over think about what you should have done in the past or what you can do in the future. Be in the present and embrace it. You cannot do anything in the past and absolutely you cannot do anything in the future. The only time you can affect is the present so being mindful on the things you do today is essentials. The things you do at the present moment. If you think too much about the past or the future, you cannot get anything done. You will always be on the same place just like stagnant water.

 

~Know the difference between motivation and taking action~

Motivation is good and I have no doubt about it. But being motivated is nothing to do with taking action. You can be motivated but still afraid to do that single step. I rather choose to become continuously motivated and taking necessary actions at the same time. Motivation serves as a fuel to get me running but I still need to kick the gas/accelerator to move forward. Get the idea???

Be a doer and play the game. The longer you deferred an idea in your head without implementing it, the weaker it becomes. When it happens, your motivation might also weaken and that idea may even disappear as well.

~Ideas are nothing until they are implemented~
You have a great idea and you plan it very well. Unfortunately, you did not do anything to implement it and make it happen. Ideas or planning are important and it’s a fact. Unless you put it into action, it will never go anywhere. Stop procrastination and implement your ideas the soonest. Don’t just park those ideas and wait for the “right opportunity”. There is no right opportunity; the right time is today…

~Do it one little step at a time~
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time…. Another famous saying but most people fail to apply it in our daily lives.

Having a big goal might overwhelm you and most difficult action may seem too much for you. It will just lead you to your “Procrastination mode”. Instead, you can start with small targets but be sure that those small targets are still related or towards to your main goal.

If you really want to experience the life you truly deserve, you need to have the courage to take action without any external influences. It is your life, it’s you who need to decides and take necessary actions. Seize the initiative when you have an awesome idea and start taking massive action. Once people see you’re serious about getting things done, they’ll will certainly run towards you and ask how you did it.

Leap of Faith

As per wikipedia, A leap of faith, in its most commonly used meaning, is the act of believing in or accepting something intangible or unprovable, or without empirical evidence.

What I have when I decided to create this blog are believe in myself and leap of faith. Thou blogging and internet marketing is not my comport zone, there is a little cute noise inside me that keep on telling me that I need to take this journey. That noise keeps on bugging me for several years until I decided to give it a try. This online journey helps me to know myself in terms of my potential and what are my core values. I learn how to think differently, do the unusual in order to change myself, the people and world around us.

Living the life you want most of the time has a corresponding change in some part of your life. It may be with your relationships, finances, current location and others. We want change to improve our life. We all come to the point wherein we think that we deserve something more. It is not being discontent. It is just that we realize we can achieve more and deserve more compare to what we currently have. You will never be certain whether you can actually shift your life in the way you desire or the other way around. Fear will always be there since it is a human nature to feel fear once in a while. The fear of the unknown…. Bottom line is, if you really want to change your life and experience the life you truly deserve, you must take a leap of faith.

The leap of faith begins when you realized that you are no longer happy with your current life situation even you feel safe enough. It involves believing in yourself and a fundamental trust in the vision of your great and successful future self. You must also understand that leap of faith is not blind faith and not just a mere hope. You have the God given knowledge and skill sets that you can use as tools to change your life.

Please do not forget to practice visualization. You should always visualize the new life that you deserve and how wonderful it feels. With this, it can initiate a positive aura that will transform your leap of faith into a growing confidence that will change your life for the better. This is the power of visualization my friend. It serves as a booster to increase the positive frequency to your life and attract abundance.

How to Overcome Procrastination

In a nutshell, procrastination happen when you put off things that you should be focusing on right now, usually in favor of doing something that is more enjoyable or that you’re more comfortable doing.

Most of the time, you are not aware that you are already on a procrastinating mode. Usually, procrastination happens subconsciously which is a serious thing that you need to be aware off on an early stage since it is the enemy of success. If you want to reach success, do anything at your own dispose and you should know how to value your time. Do not waste time and learn how to prioritize things that is more important.

Bellow are my personal guides that can help you to overcome procrastination:

 

Be certain with your goals and believe that you can achieve them

– Its pretty obvious that if you failed to identify your goals, you cannot go anywhere. Ensure that you are 100% certain with your goals. If needed, take a break or get away from your work just to meditate and know your self further. Take a short vacation alone and dig deeper inside you. What you really want to happen to your life and to your love one? What are your core values? What exactly do you want to achieve? If you found the answers, visualize that you already archived your goals.

You have the skill sets that you can use to achieve your goals. Many people are afraid to spread their wings because they are not well aware of what they can do. You have to start believing to your self and in your true potential. Keep in mind that everyone has a secret power that they can be proud of. Those untapped skill sets will allow you to do things beyond what you normally do. You are so much more than what you think and you deserve more. Most people are limited to their existence because they have put themselves in a box and have restricted themselves to grow. Think outside of the box my friend and don’t be afraid. Your success and wealth is hiding under your fear. Do the thing you are most afraid to do and success will be just within your reach.

 

One little step at a time

– I always remember the question “how to eat an elephant?” from a webinar event of my online mentor. He explained how to take one bite at a time. You see, most of our goals are way too BIG (just like an elephant) and we find it too overwhelming for us. Why not break it down into little steps until you build the whole picture. A good example is writing an eBook. Writing an eBook is indeed a huge task to do. To avoid overwhelming and information over load, you can cut the process into several little stages: First stage would be researching. Second stage would be choosing the topic and eBook title. Third, creating an eBook draft and so on….. How about rewarding you’re self once you archived each stages? It would be a good motivation for your self as well. You can reward yourself by drinking your favorite coffee after your first stage. Anything that will motivate you to move forward will definitely a big help.

Set a time line for your Goals.

– How long will it take for you to reach your goal? Setting a timeline is important because it makes you claim more definite and exacting. You can even set time lines for the little steps / stages I mentioned above. It is not necessary the time line of the goal itself. It keeps you productive and it ensures progress rather than procrastination. Be sure to hit those time line and reward your self if you achieved them.

 

Get an inspiration from others

–  These may be people, a mentor, friend or events from which you can gain good perspective from. It feels good to be able to surround yourself with these kinds of personalities because they are positive influences. You should choose people who share your passion and who can influence you to be better. Being around with these kinds of people will reduce loneliness and increase self-esteem. They can help you overcome practices that keep you away from progress such as addiction, laziness and procrastination.

It is not necessary to be with them physically. With the present of technology and social media today, I hang out with personal development experts by reading their blogs, attending their webinars and connecting with them via email or social media. It works all the same just like talking with them personally. As long as you apply what you learn from them, it will definitely help you. I even have a FB group and we call each other “Circle of Light”. They are individuals from all over the world who I meet from my online personal development course before.  They are positive and can uplift your spirit. Connecting with positive people in person or online is essential and it will certainly help you maintain your positive energy. This is very simple but indeed powerful and proven tips.

 

Take Action

– At the end, it boils down to taking action and this is my favorite. I was a victim of Not Taking an Action and creating this blog is the huge action I did for my online journey. No matter how certain with your goals, if you don’t do something about it, it’s nothing. If you want to make things happen, you should not wait any longer. Stop procrastinating my friend and reach for your dreams. Put your act on and do not prolong it any longer. There is no room for procrastination. This bad habit will only waste time and keep you far away from your target destination. If you want to do something, do it now and do not have second thoughts about it. Postponing your plans will not do you any good, so if you are sure about what you want to do, you should not hold back anymore.

Do what you Love

I am really a big fan of motivational videos or speeches that help me realize that we can do something about our dreams. They are dreams that need to be achieved and we need to push our self towards it. Below is another motivational video I found from Youtube. It hit me and I cannot help my self but to share it. It’s Jim Carrey’s Commencement Address at the 2014 MUM Graduation. I love the way how he explained about the decision we made base on Love or Fear.

Taking Actions

The number one factor that holds anyone back from succeeding is Not Taking Action. All your plans and visions will not materialize until you make your first step and do it. Although it is easier said than done, but vision without action is a daydreaming.

When you take action, ….

You are half way to your goal

– Familiar with the phrase “Well Begun Is Half Done”? It is basically true. Taking the first step is perhaps the hardest thing to do in achieving a dream. But once you made your first step, the rest is history. You will surely encounter some mental obstacles that make it difficult to take that first step. You read it right, it is just Mental Obstacles. It’s all in your mind only. You will certainly overcome these mental obstacles as you travel your journey.

Your confidence increases

–  Not all of us have the guts to take action. It is indeed a mile stone if you took the first step. You are now one of those people who bravely face any obstacles (or excuses) and your confidence will surely increase.

Commitment increases

– Once you took the first step, turning back is not an option. You have started the job so you want to finish it as scheduled. There will be some issues you may encounter along the way but those things should not stop you. Your desire to succeed should grow stronger as you progress.

You will surely learn new things

– As mentioned above, there will be some obstacles as you progress and it will lead you to other opportunity to learn. You might commit some mistakes along the way and fail. However, it will serve as your learning opportunity thus bringing you closer to your goal.

Most people often choose to abandon their dream and afraid to take action. Take action now and ensure that when the year comes to an end, you’re celebrating the accomplishment of your goals, rather than regretting what hasn’t happened but not doing so.

Effectiveness of Affirmation

The words that you usually use are very powerful things for our personal development. However, most of us go through life without ever realizing this very important fact. Using the right words or affirmations is proven methods of self-improvement because of their ability to rewire our brains.

Just like habits, when affirmations are repeated over and over again, they become rooted in your brain. By playing with words you can condition your mind to think in a certain way. During this process, it pushes the subconscious mind to take action and to strive to make the positive statement in to a reality. When you know how to use affirmations the right way, you get a great tool for reaching the life you truly deserved.

Affirmations are easy to create and very simple to put into use. But please be aware that affirmations work at both ways, to build or destroy you. It is the way we use them that determines whether they are going to help us towards our dreams or away from it. You might already used (or continuously using) a negative affirmations without knowing it. I assumed that you already said the words “This life sucks!!!” or “I am not good in doing those things” or “I can not achieve my dreams since I am just ba bla ba bla”. These phrases are already affirmations that are in your system. Your subconscious mind accepts as true what you keep saying. Whether you say it out laud or in your mind only, it attracts corresponding events and situations into your life.

How to pick the right affirmations? There are really no rules or proper procedures that you can follow. It really depends on your personal wishes and needs. If you’re lost and don’t know where to start, you can take these things into consideration:

Always positive
– Think about your positive attributes and focus on them. Most of the time, we choose to dwell on things we’d like to change rather than on those things that we really like about ourselves. Always focus on positive things. As I mentioned above, affirmations work at both ways. It will build or destroy you. So why choose negative affirmations?

I am courageous and I stand up for myself.
My thoughts are filled with positivity and creativity.
I acknowledge my own self-worth; my confidence is soaring.
Use present tense
– If you choose an affirmation in the future tense, you are just setting your dreams for a far future. Keep your affirmations in the present tense, as in now, right this very moment. With this, you are making a definite claim over it.

Today, I abandon my old habits and take up new, more positive ones.
I am brimming with energy and overflowing with joy now.
I wake up today with strength in my heart and clarity in my mind.

Be straight forward
– Be certain and specific with what your heart desire. It should be straight to the point and do not beat around the bush. Your affirmations should be specific and should target what you want, not what you don’t want. The more specific you are the more clear your directions to the subconscious mind become. With clear instructions your subconscious has a clear understanding of what you want and can go about creating the situations and opportunities that reflect your affirmations more easily.

I can properly manage the amount of $1 Million on my bank account.
Wealth of $100,000 a month constantly flows in to my life.

Maintain Positive Energy

Your life is your own making. You are the Boss of your life. You are the driver who steers the wheel that will allow you to travel the life journey with ease. But how do you command your life to the exact path that you want it to take? How will you go about in shaping your destiny with all the negativity around you?

It’s all about staying on the Positive Energy. It is the exact concept how Law Of Attraction works. The basic idea is that good things can happen to you merely if you believe they will. Your own positive thoughts and beliefs can affect the outside forces that seem uncontrollable. Your mindset will directly affect what happens in your life. The Law of Attraction is a very powerful tool that you can use to create life transforming manifestations.

The key to the effectiveness of this Law is by focusing your thoughts to Positive Energy and early awareness of those Negative and immediately convert them to positive.

Abundance (of anything that causes a positive response)

Comfort
Confidence
Affection

And Negative Energy are generated from negative feelings like:

Disappointment
Loneliness
Lack (of any of life’s necessities or luxuries)
Sadness
Confusion
Stress
Anger
Hurt

I will no longer dig deeper regarding good feelings. We all know how it feels to have those Positive energy. We all love them and we all want them. The problem will be how to maintain it even everything around us is a mess. Even we are surrounded by negative people who usually suck out any positive energy we have.

Below are some simple and proven tips that you can use to maintain Positive energy on your daily life.

Be aware and stay focus
– Awareness is the key!!! If your thoughts are not helping you feel good, shift it immediately. Where we put our focus, the thoughts we think and the stories we tell ourselves determine the emotions and energy we feel within us. When we focus on negative things like disappointment, loneliness and other negative feelings, we feel constricted and radiate a low, dull and negative energy. The more that you focus on negative thoughts, the stronger you are making them and the more you will continue to experience them.

Stay close with your Circle of Light
– When I say “circle of light”, always surround your self with individuals who are positive and can uplift your spirit. Connecting with positive people is essential and it will certainly help you maintain your positive energy. This is very simple but indeed powerful and proven tips.

Learn how to Meditate
– Meditation is the process of quieting one’s mind. You can keep the mind silent amidst all the negativity around you and it is possible because meditation is able to channel through the state of consciousness beyond what you experience when you are awake. A simple meditation will do and you will notice great improvements on your daily life. Just practice the meditation of becoming aware of your presence. Just relax, take a deep breath in, release it slowly and just feel your consciousness or presence in the midst of the thoughts and emotions. Meditation can be done any way and in any hour of the day. However, it is advisable to start your days with meditation, so that you can channel out what has happened in the past and give yourself a chance to start anew.

Love and appreciate nature
– If everything around you is a mess and almost everyone is like a vampire sucking out all the good vibes from your body, try to escape away from them and walk in a park or along the shore line. It will also serve as your ME time and appreciate Mother Nature. Listen to the sound of waves/waters, appreciate a huge old tree, smell a flower. There is a peace that radiates from their being and this peace will ignite your own inner true nature of stillness. In this way, you are also now diverting your focus to other things that will give you good feelings and return to your positive energy state.

Bottom line is,…. feed and overdose your thought with good things that radiates Positive Energy!! I will leave you now with a great quote from Buddha.

How to overcome Fear of Failure

Fear is an unpleasant sensation that can take over your life. Everyone can be a victim of fear but it is still in the person’s control if he or she would allow to be overcome by it. Most of the time, fear of something causes us to lose focus on our goals. If we are aiming to reach our goals in no time, we should learn how to effectively conquer our fears. Your life is yours to live and no one else should have the power to tell you how you should live your life. Not even your own fear or fear of failure.

There is no magic pill that can transform you into a fearless human being. Fear of something is a human nature. Most especially when we go outside of our comfort zone, we feel scared and anxious. Overcoming fear of failure is not easy but it can be done especially if you are serious to take your personal growth to a higher level.

Below are three basic but proven strategies that can help to overcome fear of failure:

Accept that Failure is Inevitable
– Its a fact and failing sucks BIG time!!! But it happens to all of us whether you’re trying to get your dream job, start your business, getting serious to lose weight or transform your current relationship. Failing is actually a necessary step on the path to getting where it is that you want to go.

Take Michael Jordan for instance.

We all know and believe that MJ was blessed with some amazing skill sets in playing basketball. However, did you know that he was cut from his high school basketball team? We don’t have NBA Legend like him if he had taken that as a blow and decided that basketball just wasn’t for him.

Another one is Warren Buffet. One of the world’s richest and most successful businessmen and was rejected by Harvard University.
Always think positive
– Positive thinking is a powerful tool to build self-confidence and neutralize self-sabotage. Developing the habit of positive thinking does not happen overnight. It is a process that you need to regularly form and manifest in order to develop into a habit. The key is awareness. Once you notice that your thoughts doesn’t feel good (Disappointment, Loneliness, Sadness, Anger etc), shift it immediately to those things that makes you smile. Think of the last vacation you experience with your love one or think of your pet. Just shift your thoughts that will elevate good feelings (Joy, Love, Excitement, Abundance etc). Again, awareness is key!!
Visualize Success
– Positive thinking alone is not enough. You should also practice to visualize success. Research has shown that we can achieve best results when we balance positive thinking with visualizing. Always look at the bigger picture of things. When you visualize your success, try to think long term, so that you can completely enjoy your triumph. You can visualize an incident facing an obstacle, feel the fear and see yourself succeeding despite these obstacles.

Dealing with Stress

Stress is a result of hopelessness, frustration, fear and anger. You should deal with it as soon as possible because it can affect many aspects of your life. It will surely bring your mood down and you will just attract more negative things. Your health is also at stakes if you focus your energy to it.

Do we really need to fell stressful about almost anything? I know that work can be stressful and any other issues you may encounter as we go along with our daily life. You can think for a specific problem for a while but don’t let it stressed you. If you let stress overcome you, you are unable to deal with any problem effectively. Stress is like a ball of chains that’s always with you and it will prevent you to the dream life you are aiming for.

How to deal with Stress Effectively? Here are some tips that you can use:

Love what you do
– If work is the one causing you so much stress, learn to love it and be passionate with it. Off course there will some aspect of your work/job that can give you too much stress but don’t focus on it. Get your attentions to those thinks that excites you and help you to feel great again. Strive to do things that you are most passionate about so that you can perform to the best of your ability. Love your work and love the people you work with so that you can work with them in perfect harmony.

Accept that each one of us is unique
– We are born unique and even twins have their own differences. You are different from other people and vice versa. If other people do not meet your expectations, you just have to accept it. Accept it with your entire hearth and do not waste your time passing judgment on other people. It will be just a waste of time, energy and there is nothing you can do about it. Accept things as they are and just let go.

Learn to accept criticism
– To be criticized is normal. It’s one of human nature to say something both bad and good to another person. It is how you accept criticism can make a difference. You have to accept it graciously and in a positive way. When someone criticize you and it does not feel so good, just shake it off and learn to use it for your own good. You will surely receive many criticisms about your physical looks, your family, your work and countless others. If you spend too much time stressing on these things, it will only frustrate you even further.

Focus on the task on hand
– Do things one at a time. Prioritize a thing that needs to be done first. You will feel overwhelm if you are not focus on a single task and it will only lead to more stress. Always remember that your focus determines results. If you are unable to keep your focus, you can expect to never arrive at your destination.

Be Optimistic
– It is important for you to have a positive outlook on life because it gives you more room to grow. Optimism encourages growth and it helps a person push their self to the limit. If you are always hopeful that everything will be already right, there is no room to become stress on something again.

Think Good Thoughts
– If you allow too many negative thoughts on your head, you will feel down and stressed. The less negative thoughts you allow to enter your head the better you’re going to start feeling about yourself and your life. With this, you will be more effective in handling any situations and it will lead to decrease the stress you are experiencing. Start thinking those good thoughts without delay and you’ll never look back.

Watch your diet and exercise
– These are pretty obvious things that you need to do but seldom neglected. How you can feel good if you are not eating good foods that can give you the energy you need? If you can clean up your diet, then you will see your energy levels rise. You can use this energy to punch back stress and leave a healthy life. You can chuck that bag of junk foods and eat something that your body will actually digest rather than just feel full on. Having the necessary energy will allow you to get a good amount of exercise and will put the chemicals in your body back into balance. Furthermore, during exercise, you also redirect your attentions to focus on your exercise routines and leave stress behind. It’s hitting two birds with one stone. You are walking towards healthy body and walking away from stress.

Meditate
– Just like exercise, meditation is good stress relievers. Meditation is the process of quieting one’s mind. You can keep the mind silent amidst all the struggles, doubts, pain and stress that you are feeling, and it is possible because meditation is able to channel through the state of consciousness beyond what you experience when you are awake. Meditation can be done any way and in any hour of the day. You can choose to start your day with meditation, so you will be more effective in your various functions. Learn to relax during meditation so that you can deal with stress more effectively later.
